Edwin Chen, MD, PhD

Dr. Edwin Chen is an infectious disease physician and Assistant Professor of Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He brings extensive clinical and research expertise shaped by advanced training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where his work focused on antimicrobial resistance and the evolution of antibiotic tolerance in persistent MRSA bacteremia. With an MD and PhD in Molecular Microbiology from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Chen has contributed numerous peer-reviewed publications, national presentations, and a U.S. patent related to vaccine design.
