Jose Cuellar Silva, MD

Dr. Cuellar Silva is a board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, with a particular focus on atrial fibrillation. Originally from Colombia, he graduated with honors from Javeriana University, one of the country’s top medical schools, and began his career in emergency medicine, serving rural communities across Colombia.

He is highly experienced in managing tachycardias, pacemakers, defibrillators, and other cardiac devices. He is also one of the most experienced Watchman implant specialists in the region, offering this advanced device as a stroke prevention alternative to blood thinners for patients with atrial fibrillation. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Cuellar Silva contributes to multiple clinical trials and is actively involved in training healthcare professionals both nationally and internationally.

Known for his dedication to patient care and innovation in electrophysiology, Dr. Cuellar Silva combines deep expertise with a thoughtful, patient-centered approach. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife Andrea and their two children, Maria Jose and Lucas—often biking, playing soccer, and watching family movies around Houston, the city he proudly calls home.
